Just returned from trip to Finger Lakes region of NY, plus Niagara. LOVED the gorges and waterfalls around Ithaca in the State Parks! Thanks to all who helped!

Isn't it great there! Please tell me you got to swim in Buttermilk Falls, that is an experience my boys still talk about. My family is from that area.

Yes, we did, even though we weren't "supposed to"! (you are supposed to swim only at the lower end pool, but many people were swimming along the gorge at different spots.
No one ever "caught us." The kids LOVED it! Anyone who lives near these gorges & waterfalls is very lucky!

I am so glad, if you loved it in the summer, imagine in the winter with snow on the ground...the water falls are frozen...looks like a Holiday card.

Linda -- glad you had such a great time!Did you end up going to Stoneybrook -- if so, how did it compare to the other parks? Were you able to do site-seeing other than the parks?

I have great memories from swimming at Buttermilk Falls -- glad your kids were able to have so much fun!

We only saw Buttermilk and Watkins Glen.
But we were amazed by both! Wanted to see more parks, but ran out of time.
Hope to make it back up there sometime!
Oh, I forgot, we did swim at the Lake in Taughannock State Park. The water is such a pretty blue!
