Thanks Tess for Christopher's in Carmel
Just wanted to thank you Tess, for recommending a great restaurant in Carmel; now I have a new favorite. Food was fabulous, in a nice subdued atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to anyone, who is looking for great food without the "tourist" trappings--no view, no fireplace, no frou frou decorations. Just fabulous food, my kind of restaurant!!!!
BTW I should have checked with you about Forge in the Forest before we had lunch there. We went to check it out because we were looking for places we could take the dog. Awful food!!!

That's the place, trip--can't recommend it highly enough. Wonderful food at reasonable prices, featuring Central Coast wines, without outrageous markups. As I said my kind of restaurant.

Sab - just now saw your post and you're most welcome! I'm so glad that you liked Christopher's. I think the decor is very nice, too...simple yet elegant. What did you have, the risotto that I adore?
Forge in the Forest? Just another tourist trap. I keep reading about so many of the restaurants that are recommended here and have to hold back my antsy fingers most of the time because they're itching to type rebuttals.

Hey Tess. No risotto, although it sounded good. I rarely have risotto when dining out as I make killer risotto, if I do say so. I had a wonderful trout and my sister had a to-die-for lamb shank. Just a great experience, and my sister wanted me to thank you for the recommendation also.
I knew I should have check with you about Forge, but as I posted we were checking out places that we could go to with the dog. I really don't understand the positive reviews it receives--the food was truly appalling.
