Tetons Visit - where to stay (that's affordable)
Our budget is max of $200/night. Going to be in the area in July and room prices are looking expensive. Aside from Jackson, are there any other towns I should be looking at for a room given my budget?
Thanks in advance

About your only option would be to stay further away from Jackson and the Tetons. Not really a savings because you will spend a lot more on gas and loose time on the commute.
You are going to an extremely popular place during peak season and you are VERY late in booking.
Its worth staying in Jackson.

I picked a random 4 nights in July Sun-W and looked at Teton Village, which is a collection of hotel condos. You could book for $250/night - I know over budget, but they are full condos with kitchen. If you ate meals there, the savings might cover the budget. We stayed there a number of years ago. Great experience. Spent full day at GTNP looking for a moose with no success. Came back to find one eating landscaping outside our condo.

It is not fancy or even really nice - think one or two steps up from camping - but Colter Bay is inside the park and under your budget. We stayed there once on our first big trip "out west" after getting married. We needed to find budget accommodation and that it was. What it has going for it is the location - walking distance to a really beautiful lake, an easy drive to Jackson Lake where we had dinner and watched wildlife and easy access to some stunning sunrise locations. We spent 2 nights here and could have stayed a week. The Tetons are stunning. The previous night before Colter Bay we stayed here: http://www.moultonranchcabins.com/rates.php
This place is immediately outside the park and absolutely beautiful. If there are only two of you, you could stay in the tiny but very affordable "cottage" which has a detached bathroom. This place really couldn't be in a much more beautiful location. I imagine they book up very quickly though so I would reserve immediately if they have an opening.

Check out Signal Mountain, they have a variety of amenities available and within your price range. Even if you are able to get a room (non view), it will be worth it. The park is in a great location and right on Jackson Lake!

We stayed at both Colter Bay (beautiful views, not fancy, not warm but a lot of room in our cabin) and Signal Mountain (fancier, more expensive, a few challenges but pretty nice) when we were here. Our first night we stayed in Jackson at a small motel designed for fly fisherman. It was very reasonable but not fancy. You can find more info if you search my trip report. Good luck--the Tetons and Yellowstone are one of my favorite places!
