Tampa Airport

Want to book a flight from Newark, New York to Tampa, but Continental Airlines who do a direct flight states that it is Tampa/St.Petersburgh, I thought St.Pete's/Clearwater was a separate airport, can someone answer this question please. Only interested in a direct flight into Tampa.

Clearwater airport is known as PIE, while Tampa is TPA. I'd say they are two different critters.

CO flies 5 or 6 flights a day, Newark to TPA.

JetBlue has one daily non-stop Newark to TPA.

You want to fly in to TPA, one of the most convenient airports in the US. Rental cars are available right in the terminal, and the airport is well-equipped to deal with weather issues.

Depending on your final destination, I much prefer PIE, because of it's small size, everything is very convienient-rental cars are very close.

Continental flies to TPA, not PIE. The smaller St. Pete/Clearwater airport is used by Allegiant, several Canadian charters in winter, but none of the US legacy airlines.
