ST. LOUIS DINING
I have selected the Chase Park Plaza as my hotel for the middle of July. Now, I need some "must try" restaurants for my 4 night stay in St. Louis. From Mexican to ice cream I would appreciate all recommendations. I will have a car in St. Louis so transportation is not an issue. Wardrobe will be limited to "casual" on this trip! Thanks!

You will like the Chase. The restaurnat there is called Eau Bistro and is very good.
This hotle as you probably know is located in the central west end, there are lots of bars and restaurants.
Bar Italia is good and in walking distance - it has a lovely court yard too.
pan Asian- Cafe Zoe
A few minutes away is Clayton - great restaurnats..
BarCelona - is a tapas bar with great food!
Cafe Napoli - great Italian food
Remy's - great wine and food
Teja's - Mexican - not my favorite but good
Icecream- Well, StLouis is famous for Ted Drewes frozen custard, in South STL,your concierge will give you driving directions, be prepared to wait in a line..... but it is worth it.
Another area of town w/ Wonderful restaurants is our loft district on or near Washington Ave.
Red Moon- Awesome restaurnt
Monarch
There are tons there now and you can't go wrong with any of them.
If I think of some more I will post.

Anne knows, rockymountain, believe me! BarCelona is wonderful. We sat there nibbling on the tapas and chatting for about 4 hours. I'm also a big fan of Remy's in Clayton, and the other restaurants in the group, Big Sky and Blue Water Grill. St. Louis has a LOT of great restaurants.

Hi Razzledazzle -
It will probably be warm here. Anything goes as far as dress. You will be fine in jeans or your fanciest dress.
That is an old and great restaurant - always consisitantly good.
I am happy to offer other suggestions while here!!!

Hi Anne & Marilyn !
Thanks for the heads up ! It is owned by
one of MrR5's best friends husband,
so we know it will be fun. I still can't decide where to stay in Clayton because of the Metrolink construction.
Gad-he had a great aunt that lived at the Chase at one time !
We will definetly spend one evening at Barcelona-in between Cardinals games.
The zoo is a must- perhaps you can give me a heads up on where NOT to stay ?
