Sovereign Arena, Trenton NJ help needed

My daughter wants to go to a Bull Riding thingie at the Soverign Areana in Trenton NJ. Can anyone tell me of a nearby, reasonably priced hotel/motel? There will be 5 adults and 2 tweens. Just need a clean place not far from the Areana and I know nothing about Trenton

Thank you for your help.

I've never been to the arena but I think it is downtown. You're best bet is to get something across the river in PA...try Yardley, Morristown or outside of Trenton toward Princeton.Try Lawrenceville and Hamilton.
There is a Marriott in downtown Trenton, but I don't think anything else.

I stayed at the Marriott at Lafayette Yard in Trenton for one night in 2003 and I know someone who worked there for about a year, until last June. I thought it was nice and there is a parking garage next to it for $13 max per day. I can't remember if you could just walk straight into the hotel from the garage or not.

thank you. I believe I read somewhere that the Marriott was near the Arena, maybe I will call them.

I spent a day in Trenton earlier this year, and my impression was that it's a very scruffy city. Consequently, I'm guessing it's wise to not skimp on the hotel should you opt to stay in the city. Am thinking SusieQQ has the right idea of heading outside the area to stay.
