Sisters week away....NEED IDEAS!

My 2 sisters and I are planning on our first vacation together(we're 50 something!) and have a week with interval vacations or Marriot (timeshares,).My youngest sister is afraid to fly anywhere, so we need a place that we could drive to in 6-7 hours.I'm flying in to D.C. from the midwest. We tried to get into Hilton Head but apparently they are booked at all their Interval or Marriot resorts. We prefer the beach and sun and a spa but would consider a resort with just a pool and no beach if it is really nice . We need to go the 23-30th of March as that is one of the sisters spring break. Any ideas would be great appreciated. S.

Sherry,

Not sure if you can drive 6-7 hours from DC and be in weather warm enough to swim in March. Are you looking for a place with an indoor pool?

That's the week between Palm Sunday and Easter and prime time for timeshare owners to travel. They usually book that week at least a year in advance. Try Myrtle beach, or the Carolina, GA shores. Have no idea what the drive time is from DC, though.

Arabella,

We would be fine with an indoor pool and even a place in the mountains where we could hike and horseback ride. We realize this is prime time at timeshares but thot maybe someone knew of a great resort in the D.C.-Va.-So.Carolina area that we could contact....S.

Try Massunutten near Harrisonburg VA @ http://www.massresort.com/. There is horseback riding and plenty of hiking. It's in the Shenandoah Valley area and quite beautiful.
How about Williamsburg?
Or if you have to use only Interval International, try their website @http://www.intervalworld.com/ and browse their catalog, then call a Vacation counselor to see what is available. Sorry I didn't think of these before.
