Seeking Comments on SpringHill Suites New Orleans Convention Center
Can anyone tell us what the SpringHill Suites at 301 St. Joseph Street is like? What is the neighborhood like? Is there free street parking close by?

Our company had an apt on St Joseph St near Tchopitoulas & it was in an old warehouse. We paid extra for parking inside the fenced area but there was some free on street parking. From what I remember it was pretty deserted there at night. Many places in the St Joseph St area are being converted to condos & such. I would imagine the hotel is similarly located.

I'd also be interested to hear some more reviews of this hotel. It's supposed to be walking distance to the convention center (gee, maybe that's why it's part of the name!) but I'm curious if there's anything else in the vicinity (besides warehouses).

I have not stayed there, but know the area. The hotel seems nice - from the outside. I believe it is relatively new. Depending on when you come & go, you may find street parking. It is sometimes difficult down there (weekend nights). The neighborhood is quiet compared to the FQ, but there is quite a bit of activity in the Warehouse District. Restaurants: Tommy's (awesome), La Cote Brasserie, Emeril's, Riomar (delicious), Rock-n-Sake (sushi, obviously). And there are a few bars in the area - usually Red Eye and Howlin' Wolf have good bands. Julia Street (one street over, I believe) has art galleries. I'm not sure what you're looking for, but it is an area that has been and continues to be revitalized.
