Did you go, bagsarepacked? I did not see this earlier. We spend a week just south of Saugatuck every year. My husband (who has been going there in the summers his whole life -- I won't say how long, but he just got his AARP membership card in the mail) thinks it has gotten too touristy. I think it is fun for a short visit. Not too much to do, but there are a couple of good restaurants (and plenty of decent places to eat if you're not looking for something memorable). Lots of high-priced little shops. Great people watching, and lovely beaches close to town. If you went, I hope you enjoyed yourself (and got some fudge at Kilwin's).

Leaving this weekend.
Decided to stay at the Landings instead of the Ship N Shore Boatel.
Seems like it might be a bit quieter.
Just getting ready to post a Where to Eat & drink......any suggestions?

Its been 10 years since I was there.
Looking forward to just hanging out.

Let me know details when you come back. I went for a couple of hours last year. It's accessible from my house in MI- inland.

Especially let me know how you felt about restaurants, shops etc. that you visited.

Thanks!

A lot of people rave over Marro's Italian Restaurant. It is on Water St.
We just ate a little place with the best BLT sandwich. It is right next to the Harbor, south side, and it had a Marilyn Monroe theme - good for lunch.
Chaps is really good too! in douglas. I like the atmosphere in this little restaurant.

Pumpernickles has great breakfast's - come with an appetite! Very hearty - homemade breads,etc..

I had lunch at Pumpernickle's on this trip and enjoyed it; have never eaten dinner there. They had someone playing guitar on the porch one evening when we walked by. We had a very nice dinner at Restaurant Toulouse a couple of years ago...but I see some recent reviews are hit and miss. I would probably give it another try though.
