Santa Fe Trip Ideas?
My wife and I are headed to New Mexico for 10 days at the end of September. We will be at a horse ranch outside of AlbQ for three days, then a week in Santa Fe. I have been reading the forums and blogs, as well as guides, and there is so much to see and do. I think I have a handle on food and the museums I want to see (we are about three blocks from the plaza). We are active people: my question is what other Must See and Do sights to check out in limited time we have. I think Tent Rocks looks good for a day hike, any other must do hikes? Also, is there a train ride that would be good (love the train)? We will be doing a white water if there are any trips this late in the season and rivers are OK. Any activity suggestions welcome and thanks ahead.

Will you be here long enough to see any of the Balloon Fiesta? www.balloonfiesta.com
Bandelier would be lovely this time of year, as would Taos. Acoma Pueblo is about 40 minutes west of Albuquerque, so it's easier to visit from there.

As of right now, Tent Rocks is still closed. Bandelier has good hiking. Hiking the Sandias is nice, take the tram up and do a hike up there.
I think there is a short train ride out of Santa Fe, but I don't think it is anything special.
No white water this time of year, probably not much in the way of even rafting or floating. Maybe kayaking...
Type Santa Fe into the search box for lots of other threads. If you have specific questions, ask away!

Thanks for the tip about Tent Rocks. They have a website on the closure, but no specific info on when they re-open, tho I have a feeling it won't be too much longer. Thanks for all the suggestions. Mark
