Santa Fe in early December
I've been reading Santa Fe posts whenever they pop up, and I'm in the very early stages of planning a trip. I'm hoping to visit in early December 2010, but I see that the 2009 Santa Fe Film Festival was held 2-9 December. Assuming the 2010 festival will be at approximately the same time (anyone know the dates? I couldn't find any information online yet), I'm wondering if I should try to avoid visiting during the festival. For example, if it is markedly more crowded, hotel prices go up, restaurants are packed, I can try to arrange to be there the week after instead. Any thoughts?
I'm sure I'll have more Santa Fe questions as my planning progresses, but thought this might be one issue to consider sooner rather than later.

The Santa Fe film festival isn't like Sundance or Cannes -it is much smaller and I don't think it impacts too mcuh of anything. If you were really concerned, then come a bit later. I did see on one site that 21,000 attend, but honestly,I find that to be really high.

Thanks so much for your input (I've enjoyed reading your many thoughtful suggestions about Santa Fe so far!). I think I saw that number too and thought I might not want to be in the midst of that, but glad to hear it doesn't swamp the town like I was fearing!

Just found this on the santafe.org site: "For 10 years, the Santa Fe Film Festival took place in early December. In 2010, it moves to October, continuing to feature innovative programing." I guess it won't impact my planning after all!
Thanks again for the information!
