Romantic Dinner in NYC
My husband and I are visiting NYC in March and will be celebrating our 10 anniversary. I am looking for a nice and romantic place to dine but not looking to spend a fortune. Looking to spend $50 to $100. We like any type of food so all suggestions are welcome. Also, we are from South Louisiana, almost as far South as you can go before hitting the Gulf of Mexico, any ideas on the best Cajun or Seafood restaurant? Thanks.

Hi Bridgett -
Just checked my 2001 Zagat NYC Restaurant Guide, and a place called "Rafaella Ristorante" may be right up your alley. It's in the Village, and the write up from readers states "charming Village hideaway serving delicious homemade pastas plus other affordable Italian specialties; those in the mood for love call it one of the best Valentines Day haunts around". Phone # there is 212-229-9885. Average price p/p for dinner plus one drink and tip is $37. Enjoy your trip and happy anniversary!

Margot has offered a good suggestion. Interestingly, that one and Temple Bar on Lafayette St. (also in the Village area) are the only two listed by Zagat's in the "Romantic" category that fall within your price range! (All the others are much more expensive.) Temple Bar is shown as costing about $31 per person. (Prices are based on dinner, one drink and tip.)
