Other than traffic volume, I can't think of any problems. The road will not be opened if hazards remain. You might hit some wet spots from melting snow, but if you have good tires that should not be a problem.

Hello from Northwest Montana.
You will indeed encounter road repair on the Sun Road though delays should be less than 1/2 hour on the alpine section. The west side just opened last Friday due to heavy rains and rock slides.
I was hiking in the park yesterday and though it was quite busy, traffic was moving at a reasonable rate.
Construction on the road will continue for a number of years due to the need for massive repairs and the short season.
Weather is hot and dry. Forecast is for 90 degree weather all this week with moderating temps. next week.

Hello John
Thanks for the information. The weather forecast I get on weather.com is saying highs in the low 70's, and thunderstorms likely over the next several days.
This sounds different than what you are showing locally.

It is now very late Wed. evening the 28th and I can tell you that it has been in the 90s the last two days and not a drop of rain. 20% chance of a shower this evening but it is 10:30 my time and nothing in sight shower wise.
Checking the local forecast for the next few days from the National Weather Bureau;
Thursday high 83 low 56
Friday high 85 low51
Saturday high 81 low 49
Sunday high 83 low48
Monday high 80?90 low 40/50
20% chance of a shower each day. Let's hope we get some of that moisture. ALWAYS can use rain!!
Mind you this is for the Kalispell area which is approx. 35 miles from Glacier Park. At higher elevations the weather could change for the worst and rapidly.
