Resorts that are very walkable/family friendly?

We are looking to take a 3 or 4 day trip with our 10 mo old.

We just want something relaxing and easy for us with the little one. We don't want to have to get in the car (or cook) for every meal. People watching, parks, pools and other activities are a must. We would love to be near a nice town or area for exploring outside of the resort.

We recently stayed at SanDestin (FL) and this fit the bill perfectly. We just don't want to do the same things again.

We live in the South but are willing to travel. Cost isn't a major factor.

Any ideas?

Key West, Charleston, and South Beach would fit the bill.

I'm in Vail, Colorado right now and what you are looking for is right here. We are staying in Vail Village and it is a very nice walkable town - no cars in the Village. There are so many families here with young children. The weather is spectacular -not hot or humid - nearly perfect.

I don't know if you've ever been to Colorado, but it is breathtaking.

We are from Michigan, so the landscape is quite a bit different for us. I can highly recommend this area.

We recently visited a Beaches Resort (Turks and Caicos). Loved it! There is a Sesame Street theme so it is clearly for the younger set. The resort is all inclusive which I loved. Tips, transfers, all included also. A great way to travel with kids. VERY low stress.
