Quick NYC trip - July 5-7
I am going down for the weekend for a few baseball games (Mets are home this weekend!)
Sat morning
We are heading down to go to the 9/11 Memorial (may go to the museum too but not sure as 1 of us has been there)
With it being July 4th weekend, how busy will it be around the Memorial?
We got a great deal on the Doubletree Metropolitan (569 Lexington Avenue At 51st ) for $120 per night via Last Minute Travel. Any experience with this hotel?

It will be insanely busy around the Memorial this weekend. And if you haven't yet reserved tickets to the museum, I doubt very much that you'll get in. I haven't checked lately, but it's been booking up far in advance.
That's an amazing deal and a nice location. If you have time pop across the street and eat at L'Entrecote (prix-fixe steak dinner with salad and fries and cheap wine).

There are tickets available to the museum but no tours available. May end up putting this off to a different weekend
Plans are very fluid at this point and we may be opting for a Brodway show (Rocky) with Rush tickets so we would have to go to the theater in the morning to hopefully get tickets for the 8pm show so we definitely are flexible. Adding in the potential of a hurricane so even getting to NYC on Friday (via Metro North) could be difficult.

I truly don't think this will be the best time to visit the 9/11 Memorial. This is probably one of the most busy weekends of the year in New York so you should either reschedule if you can or prepare for hassle and crowds.
