Where to stay in LA?

Don't want to spend over $200 per night. Thinking of Brentwood, Westwood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills areas. I'm told those are somewhat centrally located. We want to go to the Getty, the beach, La Brea Tar Pitts and just walk around. Have a good burger! Any suggestions for hotels and burgers? Thanks!

We like this place: Jamaica Bay Inn

They are running some summer specials now which include free parking and breakfast.

The other Pacifica property where I've stayed a few times is the Inn at Venice Beach, which I like, but it's more funky.

This burger place is one DS likes, in Marina del Rey

Smashburgers are good, too.

Of course, you'll want to try an In 'n' Out burger, just to say you've had one.

I second Jamaica Bay Inn even though I have not stayed there for several years. I love the location. I like the Marina Del Rey area a lot. OP, I hope you are going to have a car. LA is much better with a car.

I was also going to suggest In 'n' Out Burger!

simpsonc, the Inn has been completely renovated in recent years. It's very nice. Only thing I don't like about it, is paying for parking. Even self-parking.

Inn at Venice Beach has also been completely renovated.

Don't think you will find much in Santa Monica for $200 unless you stay at the Travelodge or Comfort Inn. Besides In n Out I also like a small chain The Habit, burgers cooked over an open fire.

Where you stay also depends on whether or not you'll have a car. As for the $$$....what time of year is the visit?

Thanks for that tip, Tabernash2. I'm glad to hear that they have renovated. I always liked the place. Now it's updated! I would agree about paying for parking...ugh.
