Photos -- Denali, Katmai (Brooks Lodge) and Kenai Fjords NPs
I recently returned from a (quick) trip to Alaska, flying into Fairbanks and returning from Anchorage, and visiting Denali, Katmai (Brooks Lodge) and Kenai Fjords National Parks. Some photos (those that do not contain family) are attached.

I would be happy to answer any questions.

Those are great photos!! I have been thinking about going to Alaska. After watching a show on the Travel channel last night about Denali and looking at your photos, I'm getting very tempted! What kind of camera do you have? You ought to post a trip report.

Camera -- Nikon Digital SLR with 70mm-300mm lens, but a shorter lens would have boon OK (I rarely fully extended the zoom lens)
Brooks Camp in Katmai NP (see www.katmailand.com) -- during July and September, grizzly bears are abundant. I planned and booked this trip last August, and even at that time, there was no lodging available at Brooks Camp over July 4 weekend (at least none available to independent travelers; I believe some operators hoard slots). I went as a daytrip from Anchorage, which allowed only six hours of bear viewing. Next time, I will plan far enough in advance to get overnight lodging.
Mosquitos -- not bad. They were evident, but not as bothersome as I had been led to expect.

fantastic 5 star photos!!!
Next time you get the chance, take the Exit Glacier trail in Seward(just eight miles down a paved road)..seeing that aqua ice just yards away is amazing.
*and the bear pictures were incredible.. I couldn't help but wonder if a few of those *knew* the Grizzly Man from the documentary.
Looked like you were able to see most of our wildlife and get some of the better weather too J.
