OT Need a Holistic Dentist in Palm Springs/Desert Palms

Hi, sorry for asking this question but I am hoping someone knows of a good holistic dentist in Palm Springs or Desert Palms. I am going to be there next week and I need to get some fillings taken out. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

What the heck is a 'holistic dentist'?
Fillings removed?
This is goofy.

Worth a read:

Meanwhile there are no "holistic dentists" listed for Palm Springs area in the national directory of holistic dentists.

Sorry, I don't know how to post a link.

Sorry for everyone thinking I am wierd but my mouth is filled with DDS's mistakes and I just finished going through 9 months of dealing with IV treatments and therapy from Mercury poinsoning. It is real and not a "quack watch". I went to a medical center not a "quack watch" type of place.

My brother in law is a dentist and he too is aware of the need for natural materials to be used.

If you want to read a good book look into "it's all in your head" it is written by a dentist.

Anyway and as far as "Quack Watch" goes, that man thinks Accupuncture is not real! He is so far behind the times. He probably thinks blood letting is still appropriate. LOL

I know everyone thinks it is funny but did you ever wonder why they take a filling that they removed from your mouth and it has to be disposed of in the "bio hazard" container? It is not because of the saliva that might have touched it. It is a bio hazard material.

Before you laugh at me, just check for yourself and the health of your family.

Thanks for your help. I just thought I would ask

I am certainly not against holistic medicine or dentistry but there are literally MILLIONS of people who have had the same material used in their "fillings" that you had a problem with and they have had no problems whatsoever.

perhaps if you had been willing to have gold fillings you wouldn;t have had whatever problems you did..or was it the technique used by the dentist?

Sorry about the link. I found one in Carlsbad. Which is close enough for me.

My problem is not with amalgms, I was only using that as an example.

I have an infection at the root of a root canal that wasn't done properly. I also have MVP (mitral valve prolapse) so I have to be careful of endocarditis.

So being their is infection already present, I really am looking for a specialist who will take all the necessary "healty" precautions that are available.

The last DDS I went to while on vacation gave me only 1/2 the doseage of antibiotic recommended by the AHA and then didn't have a dental dam. I had to go see my cardioloist, etc. it was a huge hassle as well as risk.

When it comes to my heart, I am not wanting to take any chances.

I don't understand why you didn't speak up? I have MVP and I would have insisted on the appropriate dose of meds before having the procedure done. You should carry your own supply anyway since you need to pre-medicate before any procedure. That's what I do.

Holistic dentist? All I know about my dentist is that he is an arrogant SOB, but he's a good dentist. Consider carrying your own supply to avoid such a problem.

Good luck!

You are talking driving 100 miles each way to see a dentist you know nothing about other than he's a holistic dentist, regarding a problem that could be serious considering MVP, while you are on vacation?? Ummmmmmmmm......

You mention having previous work done improperly while on vacation. Why not instead find the closest holistic dentist to your home? Maybe use your BIL if he's close and have him comply with your concerns.

If you still have infection and you have MVP, you are playing with fire. If it's amalgam fillings that are are your concern (your original post says you want them taken out), you should have no problems finding a qualified, competent dentist near your home perfectly willing to replace each and every one of them with gold or composite following the guidelines you've researched.

Good luck....like physicians, I don't like to let my fingers do the walking when I need a dentist!
