Before anyone else tells you, Cali is a city in Columbia.
Northern California in the higher elevations is getting some snow this morning. You would stand a better chance of learning to ski at Mt. Shasta than finding a place to ride a horse IMO.
Check the weather to see if you want to go south of San Francisco on the coast as far as Monterey/Big Sur.
Try the Marin, Sonoma, and Mendocino coast. Pt Reyes Natl. Seashore should be nice. Healdsburg in Sonoma Co.

There is something called Safari West. Pretty good experience.

Napa has some great parks with trails:

I would definitely head over to the coast as Stu suggests. Beautiful.
If you enjoy hiking, there are several good state and county parks in the area - I see Suzie has mentioned that too.
Jack London's home in Sonoma is fascinating.
