Newport RI B&B's
Hello all. I am planning on visiting Newport for a long weekend with my husband for our anniversary in early September. Since there are an overwhelming amount of B&B's to choose from, I'd really appreciate some advice. We love B&B's, but they can't be too old that they smell funny, but not too "boutique-chic" either. We are mainly interested in visiting the mansions and eating and drinking at some fantastic restaurants. Thanks in advance. I always get great help here.
Best,
J.

When we were in Newport we stayed at the LaFarge Perry B&B. It was very nice-the breakfasts were great and you could walk to shops and restaurants. We stayed in a room at the back of the house on the third floor. It was very quiet and had a nice view of the garden in the back yard.

I always stay at The Francis Malbone House, or its' "sister" inn, Hilltop. Elegant decor, yet friendly. They always have fabulous, creative breakfasts and sumptuous tea time spreads. Check the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor.

I love love love this place. I stayed here twice way back in the early 90s and always hoped to go back someday. Charming with just the right amount of funkiness.
