New York - Quebec itinierary
Hi everyone
We are traveling to the USA / Canada in December for our first wintery Christmas I am having some trouble juggling dates and Id appreciate some advice.
At the moment I have:
Ideal itinerary:
Sun Dec 14: Arrive NY late evening (after a flight from Australia)
Monday 15th - Friday 19 New York
Friday- check out of NY hotel - spend day in NY and get the 7pm train to Boston
(this is where it gets tricky)
Sat / Sun / Mon - Boston - is this enough time to see Boston? What are the must see attractions?
Mon night - train back to NY
Tues: Day in NY, Fly to Quebec 9:15pm
From there, we will have Christmas and a few days in Quebec City
HOWEVER.... cost of flights flying to Quebec on Monday instead of Tuesday (same fllght) is markedly different. Flying to Quebec on Monday instead of Tues would save us several hundred dollars. Flying to Quebec from Boston isnt direct -have to go via Montreal and if we get late trains from Boston to NY we dont waste daylight hours at this time of year. Of course, to do this we'd need to leave Boston either Monday morning or Sunday night and Im not sure that thats enough time.
After ideas Fodorites.... how can I juggle this?

Train back to NYC then flying to QC sounds like the worst of all worlds. By the time you add in connecting from the RR station in Manhattan to the airport you'll consume an entire day.
I would fly from Boston to QC - you could connect in NY, Montreal, or Toronto.
