We will be in New Orleans for Easter with a school age child and a tween. We thought about the City Park Easter Egg Hunt. Is it crowded? Are they too old? We also were going to watch the Easter Parade (I believe it is a bonnet parade). Where is the best place to see it? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

How about a mule drawn carriage ride? http://www.neworleanscarriages.com/
Remember to ride the St. Charles Street trolley to the Garden District.
Eat a begniet at the Cafe du Monde.
neworleansonline.com Easter crowded Aquarium/Zoo river cruise.
would be my fav travelforkids.com another site with great ideas.
Have fun!
Steamboat Natchez for an afternoon right and, of course, the streetcars are always good.
Anyone know the best place to stand to watch the Easter Parade with kids?
Older kids would love the ghost tours; the Cabildo museum is interesting. It is in Jackson Square next to the St. Louis Cathedral and houses New Orleans history. Walking through the French Market is fun - lots of stuff to look at. Take the Honey Island Swamp Tour - great stuff!
As far as where to stand for a parade; if it is an uptown parade there is usually a family atmosphere around St. Charles and Napoleon....
