Dick,

If you don't mind venturing a little ways off the turnpike, I highly recommend PJ's Pancakes in Princeton for breakfast or lunch.

Further north, you can take exit 16W to Rt 3 West and then a few miles out, Tick Tock diner is on the right. It's rated the #1 diner by NJ Magazine and I'm sure I have sent somebody's kid to college with the amount of money I've spent there. It is just a diner, but it's safe, reliable, inexpensive and easy to get to.

If you do try Tick Tock, when you exit their parking lot, keep heading west on Rt3 and take the Garden State Parkway North to I-287 and towards the Tappan Zee Bridge. This is usually the fastest and easiest way to get to CT.

Hi:
Exit 4 Route 73 towards Berlin/Atlantic City. There's a few....At Route 70 is OLGA's Diner. Good for breakfast. Further on Route 73 is Copperfield's Great for lunch. Lots of your Regular Chain Restaurants.
Also, make a right onto Route 70 and there is MARLTON Diner. Great for any meal. Got a bit further on Route 70 is Elephant and Castle Further on the left is Barclay Shopping Center. Very nice Italian Resaurant called Trattoria Baron. Norma's is Middle Eastern. There are so many in that area ! You can also get back on I295 very easily and reaccess I95 at later exit. Enjoy!

AC has it right, suggesting Exit 4 on the NJ turnpike. Following AC's directions, you'll also see Sage diner on your right as you drive south on Route 73. Probably the closest of all to the exit.

On Route 70, also in the Barclay Shopping Center is Emerald Fish--small storefront in the shopping center, open kitchen, very good for lunch or dinner.

Further west on Route 70, on your left, is Ponzio's diner, a very popular local fixture, good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

(In Princeton, we like PJ's, too!)
