Need help Pre Theatre dinner NYC

I am getting conflicting reviews on chowhound. It doesn't seem to matter what place I pick out. Something close by between Rockerfeller Center and Broadway between 55th and upper 40,s Help it,s only a week away.

confusing as far as quality and service. I booked Remi from advice on this board but chowhound and menupages opinions vary. We want Italian budget not a concern.

Ironically I was just reading chowhound today & noticed some good reviews of ViceVersa (51 betw 8th-9th). It's further west than you want but I'd try it. I haven't been there yet but my Zagat guide also gives it good marks (same ratings for food & decor as Remi but slightly better on service). They also have a garden which could be nice.

I also always like Lattanzi on restaurant row (46th betw 8th-9th)

Here's a solid vote for Remi. Have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The same goes for Lattanzi and Orso. The latter two are on West 46th, between 8th & 9th Avenues,

I find the recs here better than Chowhound. Not so much foodie type snobbery and besides it may not be around much longer without going to a pay system.

I have had a recommendation to have a pre theatre dinner at Charlotte. Anyone know anything? Location is of course ok.

I like Orso but haven't been in many moons. Becco is good.
