Myrtle Beach and Needing HELP

My girlfriend, her 10yo and 15 yo along with me and my 7 yo are meeting in Myrtle Beach. We are both single parents and want this vacation to be great (as everyone does) She wants to go to North Myrtle Beach. Hotel? Condo? We will need 3 bedrooms. 7/30-8/6 with flexibility (meaning we might not stay that whole time). Any great suggestions? TripAdvisor reviews are mixed. Anyone have any experiences? We need Oceanfront, pool, not too secluded (but NOT Honky Tonk, if that goes on down there) ... please, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!!!

TTT so beachdweller and iceeu2 can chime in. We just got back from NMB but stayed at a friend's. We saw tons of condos where we were and some small, older hotels but unfortunately I didn't pay much attention to names because I was too busy enjoying the sun and surf

I hate high rise concrete condo buildings for a nice beach vacation. there i got it out. relatives were staying at one of these monstrosities and i was so glad i wasn't staying there.

go to one of the oceanfront/across the ocean properties. It feels more like a beach vacation if you do.

GettinBye,

I am going to guess that you haven't been to Myrtle Beach in the summer before?

Let me first comment on your requirement of flexibility--i.e., possibly cutting your stay short. Most summer rentals are for a full week, and most are Saturday to Saturday. You can cut your stay short, but you'll still be paying for a full week. Possibly you can find more flexibility at one of the larger resorts, such as Kingston Plantation or Marriott Grande Dunes, or Ocean Creek. But you're going to pay a premium for those (probably $275 a night and up, if they have any rooms).

Second, occupancy in our little beach town is at about 95% this time of year. Good luck finding a place to stay at all, much less one that meets all of your requirements. I don't mean to sound harsh, but you need to know the truth. I think your best bet is to hit the internet (or the websites for the resorts I mentioned above) and see what you find.

As far as North Myrtle Beach, I suggest contacting one of the larger rental companies and seeing if they have anything available. Try White Realty and Elliott Realty for starters.

Good luck, hope you make it down here and have a great time!

Laguna Keyes is one on my end of N. Myrtle Beach that families seem to enjoy. Right on the beach with indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, Lazy river. As stated you may not be able to just drop in and out as this is high season. Check as suggested with the realty companies. Inlet Motel is a small hotel just across the street from the ocean that is also a good choice if they have a vacancy.

Ditto with what beachdweller said.

Excellent hotels that have 3 bedroom condos:

Marriott
Kingston
Sea Watch Resort
Caravelle (north end of Myrtle Beach)
Ocean Creek
Avista Resort
Beach Cove Resort
