Movies to watch before my first trip to Utah/AZ

My apologies if I am stealing a past thread, but I couldn't find this anywhere...

Heading to UT and AZ to the national parks with the kids, wondering what movies to watch to get in the mood. Please separate into "family" and "older folks" (I didn't want to say "adult" movies, you can imagine the answers).

Read some Tony Hillerman books. Great descriptions of the southwest and some education on the Navajo culture.

Thelma & Louise - if you take a 1/2 day float trip down the CO River in Moab, they will show you where the car launched over the cliffs. Lots of southern UT scenery.

The third Indiana Jones movie, the one with Sean Connery. Filmed in the Moab area.

Any old John Wayne/ John Ford western.

Many others too numerous to mention!

Broken Arrow, the Jimmy Stewart version from 1950, was filmed in the Sedona area.

My favorite is The Eiger Sanction with Clint Eastwood. The first half is filmed in Zion and other parts of the Southwest. This would be for adults only.

Another great John Ford movie (without John Wayne) - My Darling Clementine (in B&W)

That's a great list Super, I wonder when it was last updated. I expected to see National Treasure (I or II) on the list since it was filmed at so many US sites.

I second the Indiana Jones suggestion. The third film (with Sean Connery and River Phoenix) starts out in Southern Utah in Moab. If you are going to be going through Moab at all you should definitely catch a few minutes of it.

Also, Mission Impossible- the one where Tom Cruise is rock climbing at the beginning!
