Lodging in Door County, WI

We have a few options for our brief two night stay in Door County....the Yacht Club in Sister Bay, the Egg Harbor Lodge and the Landmark (although that seems to be receiving the most negative reviews on another travel site). Any comments and/or suggestions would be appreciated!

Another option opened up...the Blacksmith Inn in Bailey's Harbor! Anyone stayed at any of these properties?

Sister Bay is probably the most centrally located of your choices, so it depends on whether or not you want to be in the center of the action. Bailey's Harbor is a little removed from the super busy areas along the bay side. I guess it also depends when you will be visiting. Peak months the traffic along the bay side on the main road can be crazy whereas the Bailey's Harbor side is quieter.

Thanks, julies! Yes, Sister Bay sounded the most centrally located. We have never been to the area before and info on the area, as well as the specific lodging choices we have is sure appreciated! (BTW, we'll be going the end of July for only two nights and will arrive on a Sunday, late afternoon or early evening, if that helps!)

Anyone out there stayed at any of these places, esp. the Yacht Club in Sister Bay, and want to share your thoughts?

I don't know anything about the particular properties you mentioned. But I can tell you that everytime we've stayed in Door County it's been in Baileys Harbor. Specifically because it is a little removed from the busier areas. Of course, that's very much a matter of personal choice. We really enjoyed the fact that it was quieter and less crowded.

Thanks, CAPH52. It sounds a s though there are good reasons to stay on the "quiet side". As we've never been there (Door Co.) before, we're not sure whether it's best to stay closer to the action and get the lay of the land first. So, we hope that someone out there might be able to give us some feedback on the specific properties that are avaliable....something to help us decide!
