LGA transporation to Times Sq. hotel

Hello,

There will be 4 of us arriving at LaGuardia airport on Wed (mid-afternoon). Would a regular taxi be able to accomodate 4 people (+ luggage) or are there "taxi vans" available curbside at the airport? Other options? We don't want to spend a lot, but also don't want to drag luggage around the bus or subway.
Also, what should we expect for cab fare?
TIA!

Cab, around $30-$40 depending on traffic including tolls, tip, and tax.

There is a shuttle - but the cost for four people would be more than a cab.

A regular cab canhold 4 people (one in front with the driver) and reasonable luggage. If you have a lot tell the taxi dispatcher and he will sort if or you.

there is no Air Train from LGA - so your only other option is regular public bus to another bus or subway. IMHO to try to do this with luggage is mad - too many steps, changes of vehicle and no place at all to put luggage - except your lap or under your feet.

The taxi stand at LGA had a constant parade of taxis taking fares to the city. Getting a van was luck of the draw: either wait til one comes up in line, or you could take two cabs. Some drivers didn't want people up front (we were four in our group, too). Moderate luggage shouldn't be a problem. Those trunks are big.

Getting a van on the street is more chancey: you'll need to call for one or wait until an empty one goes by.

New York City taxis are required to allow 4 passengers (and forbidden to allow more than 4). Unless your group has an unusual amount of luggage, you shouldn't have a problem.

Another option is to call a car service and request a mini-van (Carmel is an option, 212-666-6666).
