Largo to Orlando THEN to Rowlett, TX

Aloha everyone!
Need your help with my travel plans to see if any of this makes sense. Plan to go during the 1st two weeks of Oct. Just me and my daughter (18 yrs old). We are not into theme parks only SeaWorld as my daughter loves Orcas! We like to see natural sights, beaches and outdoor interesting places.

Fly in to Tampa
Rental car drive to Largo, stay three days, any sights to see?
Bus to SeaWorld Orlando, stay overnight at ?
Maybe bus to Kennedy Space Center, is it worth it? overnight at ?
Then back to Tampa to leave for Rowlett, TX

Fly in to Dallas-Forthworth
Rental car to Rowlett, stay three days, any sights to see?
Get to SeaWorld San Antonio, bus?, accommodations?
See the historical sights there, how many days should we consider?
Fly back to Hawaii

Appreciate any help I can get.
Mahalo!

You must be the first person on Fodors forum to mention Rowlett, Tx! Why? Unless it's free lodging, or you're visiting relatives, I can't think of any reason to go there?!

What are your plans for those 3 days in Rowlett? I can make a bunch of suggestions for sights to see in Dallas, but not knowing what your interests are, I don't know what to suggest. Do you like outdoorsy stuff, or museums, or shopping
???

You should keep your rental car and drive to San Antonio. Public transportation in TX is not the best. Where are you flying home from? San Antonio or DFW?

Is it really necessary to visit 2 SeaWorlds on the same trip? I thought all of them are pretty much identical.

My daughter has a penpal friend in Rowlett so we'll just visit with them and have them take us around. My daughter loves horseback riding so we might want to do that, too.

We love outdoorsy stuff and museums and smaller town shops for shopping and bringing back souvenirs or specialty food products from the area.

We'll probably fly home from San Antonio, but I'm waiting for the air travel to be finalized. We're using DeltaSkyMiles so we have to see what's available.

Yes, the SeaWorlds are pretty much the same, but it's my daughter's goal to see them all.

CillaY - based on your reply, it sounds like you aren't too interested in visiting the city of Dallas then.

Some interesting "towns" to visit would be:
McKinney

Grapevine

Greenville

Also don't miss the annual Texas State Fair - it's something that you won't see anywhere else:

The Dallas Arboretum usually have a Fall Blooms festival in Sept-Oct.

yk, appreciate your help with places to visit in Texas. The State Fair sounds great! Also thanks for the tip of holding on to the rental car to go to San Antonio.

It would probably make sense to hold on to that rental car and dive to Orlando and, perhaps, the Space Coast. I'm not sure what bus - other than perhaps a Grayline tour or similar - will provide that type of transporation from Largo to the theme parks. Regular bus service will stop at a central terminal, and taxis will be expensive for the distances you need to cover. Largo is not on the Gulf beaches (but it is close) so I assume you are staying with friends?

We are visiting with a friend in Largo and usually like to stay somewhere else instead of at their home. Do you know of any reasonable places to stay? Also in Orlando, a place to stay overnight?

BTW, while you are in San Antonio, I wouldn't stay anywhere EXCEPT right on the Riverwalk.
