We just recently rented a house in Lakeway, and drove into Austin for dinner at Uchi on Lamar. I did yahoo maps to get driving directions, and they worked fine - I believe it was 620 south to 71. turn left on 71, heading east. 71 will turn into 290 - veer left here, still heading east. Take the ramp onto Loop 1 (MoPac), heading north. Exit 2244 / Barton Springs Road, turn right. It should take you about 30 minutes.

J62 - I had looked at that route. Google maps has us getting on Mopac for a short while. Does Bee Cave go under Mopac and becomes Wallingwood?
The Romeo's Restaurant on Barton Springs website has folks taking Lamar Blvd from the loop.
I hope P_M checks-in. We will be there a week starting this Friday 18th. It doesn't look like there are any major grocery stores in Lakeway.
I have Hudson's maked on my list to check it out

There is an H.E.B. in Bee Cave @ 71 and 2244/ Bee Cave Rd - 5min from Lakeway.
Yes, Bee Cave Rd goes under MoPac then turns left onto Wallingowood (never knew that was the name). You never actually go on MoPac with that route.
Unfortunately Lake Travis water level is at 630 feet - the lowest it's been in over 40yrs, and 50feet below full so I think just about all boating is off. The sunset view from the Oasis will be certainly be quite different than when the lake is full.

There's also a Kroger on 620 at Lohman's Crossing.
the lake level is extremely low - it's so sad. When we were there a month ago, there were no public boat ramps open. The Lakeway Marina was still open, and we were able to get out on a friend's boat for a bit.
Lake Austin's water level is fine - we actually drove into Austin one day and rented Kayaks near Zilker Park.
Have a great time!

There is a wonderful Italian restaurant in Lakeway - called Ciola. It is in a strip center right on 620. Don't let the exterior fool you. There is a true chef in the kitchen and it can be expensive - but really good. There are several major grocery stores in Lakeway. The commercial construction along 620 in the past few years has been extraordinary. You can find everything in terms of big box stores like Target, Home Depot, and several grocery stores. And there is a new mall at the corner of Bee Cave Rd and 620, with Dicks Sporting Goods, Dillards, and some high end specialty shops. Its an outdoor mall and a fun place to stroll in the evening. Across the street is another center, with a good burger place, Waterloo, and a very good casual Italian place, Mandiolos. Wonderful pizza - and good take out.

nancythenice - Wow! Thanks, glad to hear of all the stores. Will give Mandiolos a try. I have read about Ciola.
CStoneTx - Thanks on the Kroger.
We'll be off in a few hours. Weather is looking good. Thanks for all the help.
