I don't know if they do it every year, but my husband and I went to a great patriotic symphony concert with an awesome fireworks show afterward at Red Rocks a few years ago. Red Rocks is an out-door concert venue that has seating on the grass--BYO blanket. It was EXCELLENT--I would highly recommend it if they are doing it this year.

I live in Littleton. Last year, due to the drought, all the fireworks displays were cancelled. (At least I remember it that way!) We had a TON of fires last summer, so it just didn't seem like a good idea.
Hopefully, our snow pack will be back up this winter/spring so we can have fireworks in 2003.

Actually that is not correct about all shows being cancelled. We watched them at a family members home in Littleton/Highlands Ranch area that has a great unobstructed view all the way to downtown. We saw probably at least 6 different professional shows ALL over the sky in each direction. It was a pretty great show. You will need to wait a little bit closer, maybe start checking the week or so before July 4th. I know the news channels usually post that info on their websites and www.9news.com is an excellent website. It is true however that all firework stands were shut down due to the drought but they did allow some proffesional shows to go on.

Hmmm... won't have a T.V. with me on my travels & don't get same channels before leaving here in Ontario Canada.
I'll check with the tourism centres when I get in the area.
Thanks everyone.

Sorry Lenleigh. I meant that we will already be "on our trip" travelling for more than a week before July 4th.
I only have the internet at work. I'll check the website though before leaving home.
Thanks again.

Syv,
Since you won't have access to the web during that time, just pick up a copy of The Denver Post or Rocky Mtn News (which ever one is published that day) and it gives locations for displays during the week of the 4th.
I live in Littleon, and the fireworks displays were not as plentiful last year, because of the drought, as other years. However, since we just had the 'Blizzard of 2003', there might be more this year. Happy travels.
