ISO CHICAGO WALKING TOUR

I'm heading to Chicago for a job interview on Friday and I have never been there! I'm trying to locate a walking tour of the main parts of the city (i.e. the Loop, Near North Side, Gold Coast, etc.). Can anyone help?

There are many different types of walking tours of Chicago.

I just did a Google search with the words -chicago walking tour- It came back with many possibilities.

Enjoy Chicago, it's a GREAT city.

check out the Chicago Architecture Foundation's website--www.architecture.org. They have all types of tours from walking to bicycle to boats and cover all areas of Chicago from downtown to the many unique neighborhoods to cemeteries. They are lead by volunteer docents and are top notch.

Not exactly a walking tour but I highly recommend the architure tour by boat. Very cool especially on a nice day. Good luck on your interview.

I'll second swalter518's recommendation for the architecture tour by boat. It goes on the Chicago River with narration by the Architecture Foundation. Website is www.architecture.org, same website as the walking tours mentioned by d, also a great suggestion.

Another suggestion might be to look at the www.chicagogreeter.com website and see if you can get a greeter for the day. The service is free but needs to be arranged in advance.
