Inns B&Bs South County RI

Any recommendations for small inns (say fewer than 20 rooms) or B&Bs in South County RI, preferably between Westerly and Narragansett? Something in the $150 night range, rooms with private bath.Bonus points for walking distance to a beach.
I'm not a big fan of B&Bs that make me feel like I'm trespassing in someone's home, but I love visiting South County and there aren't many choices

We stayed in a hotel in Narragansett. It was okay - wouln't really recommend it but it was across the street from the ocean and just down from the Casino. Not a fan of B&bs so I can't recall any in that area. Have you checked newengland.com - the travel website for Yankee magazine?

Thanks, I have seen lists of B&Bs, I was hoping for some personal recommendations. I know Narragansett has a few big 'hotels' and some B&Bs , I'm just wary of choosing blindly, especially since none are exactly inexpensive

One more try at topping this question.

You may have more luck with a specific b&b site. See - www.bedandbreakfast.com and go to their forums for RI.

I wish I could remember the name of the B&B we went to in the Narraganset area for a quick get-away (not near the beach). We paid about $120, in February of last year and it was just "ok"- nice big room but terrible breakfast with horrifically bad coffee. It really is a fairly expensive area but then again so is most of New England near the beach. Maybe topping this off again will bring out others comments. South County is so gorgeous but we can usually make a day of it by just driving from Mass.

Wait, I just checked out that great B&B site and it was the Eden Manor in Wakefield. The fireplaces do NOT work (again true everywhere) there. Nice people but they can't cook. Place was very quiet, very large so you didn't really feel like you were intruding except at breakfast, a bit run-down, ok in a pinch but if it was me next time I'll try to find a place that's walking distance from the beaches too and spend more money.

Cookiew, thanks so much for checking, This is one of the places that came up in my search but I wasn't sure about it, I really do value the personal insights! I also would prefer to be on the beach somewhere. I once stayed at the Admiral Dewey Inn, walking distance from a beach, but it is not available on the dates I'm considering

We stayed many years ago at the Villa in Westerly, RI. As I remember we had a nice stay, but it has been a long time and they may have changed hands since then. The rooms were nice, all with private baths - and 6 rooms in total. Not walking distance to the beach, though. We definitely didn't feel like we were in someone's home. BTW, lot's of B&Bs these days are much different than the homestays you may be thinking of.
