How to get from Midtown Manhattan to Giants Stadium

I know there's a train that goes from Penn Station to Seacaucus Junction, and another that goes from there to the Stadium but I can't decipher the schedule.
Can anyone tell me roughly how frequently these trains leave Penn on Sundays, and where I can buy tickets. It's a little confusing in that it's two different transit systems.(I think)
We're going to a 4pm football game.

You may be having trouble because rail service is limited to the stadium train station. from the Giants website:

"The new rail system connects the northeast corridor to the Frank R. Lautenberg train station in Secaucus, N.J., which allows fans from the region to quickly and efficiently reach the New Meadowlands Stadium. The rail station at the Sports Complex is located next to the New Meadowlands Stadium and the travel time between the Secaucus Junction train station and the Sports Complex station is approximately 10 minutes. The round-trip fare from Secaucus to the Sports Complex is $4.50. Rail service commences three (3) hours prior to kickoff and ends two (2) hours after the game. For more information, please visit NJTransit.com."

There is also a bus service from Manhattan directly to the stadium:

NJTransit operates frequent trains out of Penn Station to Secaucus Junction, where you transfer on game days to an NJTransit train directly to the stadium. The trip, depending on connections, takes from about 30 to about 45 minutes. The fare for adults is $5.25 one way. (Seniors--62 and older, children and disabled pay $2.25 one way.)

Buy a pair of one-way tickets for your round trip at the automated vending machines in Penn Station, or you'll have to pay a $5 surcharge to buy tickets from a conductor on-board.
