Hotel West Palm Beach, Delray, Boca
Have checked tripadvisor, know there are all the usual chains, etc. Any hidden gems less likely to show up on these sites for a long weekend end of Feb? Does not have to be right on beach; will have car. Just me going alone to run away from home to someplace warm for a few days and visit my brother in the area. Do not need multiple amenities like room service, spa but want something a bit nicer than the Motel 6 since I intend to spend at least some time just relaxing at the hotel (so pool is almost essential)

West Palm Beach: Hotel Biba (unique, funky--Just over $100/night), Casa de Rosa B&B in the Northwood historic district of West Palm, (not sure of the rates). A new chic hotel just opened in Delray called the Seagate Hotel--looks South Beachy, hip, likely more pricey. Within walking distance of a ton of shops, restaurants & the beach.
Those are the ones that come to mind off the top of my head. Enjoy!

Have heard good things about the Seagate Hotel and its restaurant in Delray. There is a new lobster "shack" in Delray too, owned by one of the LL Bean family. The Sundy House in Delray also has some rooms; love the restaurant and garden.

Rachel - that would sound reasonable, but as much as I love him, he is clueless about a lot of real world things - (bachelor, accountant - told me not to stay near I95 because "places get robbed there" - even though he really meant convenience stores at 2 AM).
Now he is suggesting I stay closer to Palm Beach area - looking at Fairfield Inn on South Ocean Blvd - we have enough Marriott points that I could stay for almost free. I am familiar with the area as I visit every year and parents lived in WPB for 10 years.
Will check into other suggestions above as well. Thanks.

Not sure where that Fairfield Inn is on South Ocean Blvd...I know there is a uniquely placed Residence Inn right next to the Delray Beach Marriott...both on Atlantic Ave....I'd recommend either if you have the points. The Marriott itself is really quite lovely with more character than the normal chain properties. Great location on the beach & tons of stuff to do on Atlantic. There also always seems to be a festival/art show every weekend on Atlantic.
Another thought since you are looking towards Marriott now...they just took over a property on Singer Island...I think its now called Marriott Resort or something like that...formerly was The Resort at Singer Island and was rated a 5*, I think. They are condo-type units so it would be more like having a suite. There are also other Marriott timeshare units on Singer Island (Ocean Pointe) which are very nice; sometimes you can get them for points, I believe.
