hotel for bachelor party

This will be a first time trip to LV for many people in the party- including the bachelor- we want a pretty nice hotel close to everything- suggestions on hotels and ways to get the best deal on air fare as well as room?

For a bachelor party in Vegas I would definitely suggest staying at either the Hard Rock or Mandalay Bay. The Hard Rock is a very young crowd, lots of bachelor/bachelorette parties are always going on here. FUN atmosphere and you will meet tons of hot women. Great resturants here too, I would suggest Nobu (japanese) and the Pink Taco both really fun atmosphere and great for a bunch of guys. Also Mandalay Bay has a young crowd, fun and upbeat. Great restaurants and night life as well. I would suggest Red Square (steak, seafood, russian vodka list is HUGE) to eat or China Grill or 3950 (steak). All three are excellent. Have fun!

I agree with the above comments about the Hard Rock, but you should know that the Hard Rock is not on the Strip, nor is it within reasonable walking distance. If you're looking for something "close to everything," as you put it, then take this into account. I'm not saying you shouldn't stay there (after all, you can always take cabs), but you should at least be aware. Mandalay Bay is on the south end of the strip, and is also a long walk from the center of the strip, although Mandalay has monorail to connect you to some of the nearby hotels (Luxor and Excalibur, I believe?). Enjoy!
