Hilton Head-Nice places to stay? April good time to go?

Hi planning trip to Hilton Head SC mid April, wondering how the weather is then?

Looks like the week I plan to go , the DISNEY resort has no availability!

Any recommedations of other hotels that are just as nice? Maybe the Westin, Hilton, or Marriott.?

Any good restaurants recommendations?

Thanks!

April is a busy time with east coast schools on spring break. Weather should be nice then.

Islander for 29 years. IMO, the very best weather is May and October, but April is usually good, too. Had my top down for the past month. All your hotels are good and you could also try Sea Pines Real Estate or Dunes Marketing for villa rentals.

Restaurants? I have three Italian favorites:

Michael Anthony's, (south end) on New Orleans Road.

Mulberry Street Trattoria is over the bridge and the first left after the Moss Creek light.

Il Carpaccio, (mid island) at Pineland Station. Also thin crust wood fired pizza

Skull Creek Boathouse (north end) on Squire Pope Road for crowds, view and a good raw bar.

And for the glitterati, Wise Guys Lounge (north end) near Main Street. Tapas amd action until late. Everyone comes through here on Friday evenings.

We stayed at the Hilton and didn't think it was great -- good location, but tired hotel.

I would suggest a villa rental if you are staying for a week and you can stay inside a plantation. we have used vrbo several times and had very good luck.

We stay about every other year in a Marriott timeshare in Sea Pines. Marriott has a nice hotel and numerous timeshare units on Hilton Head for rent. I am very prejudiced, but I would highly recommend staying in Sea Pines Plantation. There should be plenty of units available for April. Our timeshare week is in May and the weather has almost always been excellent. In April, it will be pleasantly cool, but excellent for bike riding and walking the beach, two of our favorite pastimes on the island. Our favorite restaurants are Tapas, Redfish, Truffles, Dye's Gullah Fixins and for Giuseppes for pizza. We're looking forward to being there again this May.

Just got back last night from a week at the Marriott Grande Ocean just outside of Sea Pines on a timeshare exchange, lovely place and the weather was great most of the week. Dye's was closed when I tried to eat there for dinner Saturday night, ate at carrabbaas and their scampi was great. Another place I liked was CQ's.

Thanks for all the replies! I booked the Marriott Hotel just for backup since I'm a Marriott Rewards member, but will look into the Marriott Grande Ocean and the Sea Pines Plantation. I don't like hot and humid weather, we went to Savannah one year on Memorial Day weekend and it was SO HOT!!! So thought April would be nice time to go. Hoping maybe see some "beautiful spring flowers this time of year and green grass??? We do LOVE bike riding and not really ocean swimmers but would love to just sit on the beach and not be sweating to death.

The azaleas will just be winding up. There will be lots of green and flowers, but it could be hot. Humidity is part of the deal down here.

Given your desired weather, I would agree that April could be a perfect time for you. We prefer late May as we like it hot and swimable and April likely wouldn't be warm enough for us.
