Hilton Garden Inn or Hampton Inn New York
I will be travelling with my family to New York City next week. We would like to go to Time Square, Rockefeller Centre, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, 5th Avenue shopping and Herald Square shopping etc... I`m choosing between the Hilton Garden inn Time Square or Hilton Garden Inn New York West 35th Street or Hilton Garden Inn New York/Central Park South Midtown West and Hampton Inn Manhattan-Time Square North. Can you suggest which one is the best hotel and location that also in line with a lot of restaurants to choose from. Thank You.

They are all pretty much equally well located for what you want to do, all with many restaurants and stores nearby within walking distance.
I personally don't like the west 35th Street location as much as the others (that's not a very vibrant neighborhood and has fewer good food options). But regardless of where you are, you're going to be within 10 minutes walk of excellent restaurants and Times Square.
In NYC, I'd rate Hilton Garden Inn a bit higher than Hampton Inn, but the latter includes breakfast with all rooms, while you have to pay extra for breakfast at a Hilton Garden Inn. Pick the hotel that offers you the best rate.

I'm actually going to amend my comment about the West 35th Street location. That's between 5th and 6th, and now that I think of it, it's close to Hill Country Barbecue and Hill Country Chicken. Those are good casual food options. And there's a decent steakhouse down there, though you still have to walk to most other places. I guess what I"m saying is that it's all a wash to me.

Yes. The Hilton Garden Inn Times Square and the Hampton Inn Times Square North are very near each other. Bthe HGI has fridge and microwave inthe rooms; the Hampton Inn includes breakfast. Both have rooms with 2 queen beds vs the more usual for NYC 2 doubles. Both are good. Look at photos on oyster.com. You may get a discount if you use the corp. discount code 0002635191 . You need to belong to Hilton Honours.
