We were just there and would recommend Ravello way over Positano and Amalfi!

I realized after my post that it was US forum-thanks, I'll re-post. Ravello sounds nice and I considered Praiano but lots of people thought not much of a town and too quite. In Ravello, did you feel there were enough cafe's to pop in for caffe and pastries or restaurants at night, and gelato after? Did you stay put and enjoyed your town or did you feel like you were always on a bus to visit another town? Your thughts would be appreciated.

We drove from Taormina and stayed at Hot Parsifal.
The included breakfasts and dinners were really quite good and their wine list is fun.
The family staff is among the very best world wide.
Fodor's recommended Rest Cumpa Cosimo and Vittoria were both excellent.
Four nights was enough.
Took the bus (1 Euro) to Amalfi and the ferries (5.5 Euro) to Positano.
Wanted to go to Capri, but too early departure and too late return for the (not so great) weather last week.
We drove to Pompeii which was amazing.

can't help with villas, but do want to say that our favorite memory of positano was Capri -while positano is beautiful, and some delicious restaurants too, the day in Capri was unbelievable. So don't miss it!
