Help? Need your travel expertise!!

I'm trying to decide on where to vacation in November for my 10th anniversary. We are a simple couple in our 30's. I'm thinking about someplace warm/romantic/maybe with a beach or tropical atmosphere with shopping, some entertainment and nice restaurants. Unfortunately, I'm on a budget so Hawaii and the Carribean are out
Any suggestions?

You might think about Acapulco. We got a GREAT deal through Continental Vacations for mid-November. We paid about $1,300 per person for airfare from NY, the Hyatt for 7 nights, and airport transfers in Acapulco. It is their low season so hotel rates drop dramatically. The weather that time of year is spectacular with clear blue skies and warm tempatures.

If you decide to go to Florida then I suggest Key West, St. Augustine, St. Petersburg, South Beach, or Naples, in order of my personal preference.

The Gulf and Atlantic waters will not be warm enough to swim, so I'm suggesting places where there is a beach but also other attractions. All these places have charm, history, things to do.

Thanks for the info. We will be traveling from Michigan. Oh and DH will not do Mexico. He doesn't want to go to Mexico and we don't care for cruising.

It's a shame your husband will not go to Mexico because it is such a vibrant and diverse country!

How about the Florida Keys?

I would second Sannibel Island. The Keys are fun - but the beaches are not good. For romantic - Sannibel, Marco Island, Naples..... There are also some nice places around Miami... I like my other suggestions better - but Miami can also be nice.

Check out Casa Morada in the keys...Islamorada. They were just written up in Cosal Living Magazine and it looks amazing. Friends of ours have traveled to Islamorada and love it...it's beautiful. We are condsidering Casa Morada for our wedding next year. It's small (16 units) and very romantic. It would be perfect for an anniversary. Flights to Miami are very reasonable and frequent and the drive to Islamorada (90 minutes) will be beautiful. I believe Key West is about an hours drive from Islamorada. Good Luck!

Thanks you for all the suggestions. I'm wondering about Naples. Are there lots of activities in Naples? Also any good hotel recommendations. I was also looking into Sanibel too. I saw a nice hotel online-Sanibel Harbour Beach Resort. Is this a good hotel?
