Help ! Car Needed !
Arriving in Phoenix on 12/28. Blame it on
early senility, but I thought I had rented a car months ago and now find that I never did. YIKES ! Any advice or local car rental places would be MUCH appreciated. We have our concierge working on it but I figured I'd throw this doozy out to the pros at Fodors.com.
P.S. Rental period is from 12/28-1/4.

call cheap tickets 1-800-377-1000 go online to there website also. I found them to have very competitive deals on car rentals. If you had given yourself time you get even better deals if you are a AAA member but for this you must call dealers directly and see who offers best price.

Plug your details into Orbitz and see what they come up with. You may find a good rate with a local company you've never heard of.
Check the rental car websites and look under "Last Minute Specials" or whatever the individual companies call it. You might find something there.
Good luck.

Just an FYI: Beware of Hertz' hidden fees.
I turned my car in a day early & "nearly" full - which means I had filled up near my hotel & then drove straight to the airport to turn in the car.
Hertz charged me for filling up the tank, to the tune of $4.99 per gallon - for 8 gallons. It was a Toyota Corolla.
They also charged me a $45 "concession fee" & the attendant could not explain what that meant. I was thinking perhaps for cleaning the car, but it was not dirty by any stretch of the imagination.
I am disputing this bill with my credit card but it's still an inconvenience.
