Hello Jenny--my son was married in San Francisco last October. It was a lovely event, the whole weekend. The wedding was quite formal but the rehearsal dinner was VERY casual. My son picked the place, and it was perfect for our group (about 40 people). We had the upstairs dining room to ourselves. It was an ideal setting for talking and mingling.

We had 3 different kinds of pizza on each table, plus a wonderful salad before, and dessert after. Most of the vegetables came straight from their garden.

It is easy to get to, a few blocks from the 24th & Mission BART station.

I'm sure you'll get many other suggestions---hopefully someone knows of a place for BBQ.

Do you want to go to a restaurant that serves BBQ, or do you want to do your own BBQ/grill dinner?

Jenny, Congratulations! A great place to look for a rental is www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner) If you spot something you like, post it here for feedback on the neighborhood.
