Good Eats in Bend & Yachats, OR

Will be spending a few days in Yachats and then later in Bend, Or. Any suggestions for places to eat in either place? We like just about any type of food. Thanks

I liked the Drift Inn in Yachats on my last visit--informal but the food was good and it has a good vibe to it.

I haven't been yet but a friend just mentioned that the Yachats River Inn was good on their visit earlier this month.

I wasn't wild about food or the service at the Adobe when I went there but it's been a while so perhaps things have improved--it does have a great view though.

Food and service at the Adobe have never been great- but its not terrible and the views are incredible - so have a couple of drinks and you wont notice

Down the road in Florence if you want to drive that far is the Waterfront Depot which has excellent food - you will likely need a reservation.

In Bend the Pine Tavern is a legend so try that
and there is a great Thai restaurant 0 Toomies Thai Cuisine

Alpenglow is very popular in Bend, mostly for their breakfasts, but they do lunch too. Cork was named best new Oregon restaurant when they opened 4-5 years ago. I wouldn't have agreed with that assessment, but we did think it was good when we had dinner there a couple years ago. Bluefish Bistro is also worth a visit.

I haven't been to Yachats in a couple years, but remember it being slim pickings if you're looking for high end eateries. That was okay with us, though. The places we wandered into seemed to fit the coastal scene well in both food quality and vibe.

We enjoy Anthony's in the Old Mill District of Bend. It is next to the river, so try to get a window seat or sit outside to watch the kayakers and float tubers.

There are a lot of little cafes and restaurants in the old downtown area of Bend. If you happen to be there on the first Friday of the month, Bend has the First Friday Art Walk. Most of the stores and all the art galleries are open late. The galleries serve food and wine (free!!). You can also meet many of the local artists.

You don't mention your budget. If money is no object, some of the best food in Bend is at the Blacksmith (downtown.) Anthony's is a Seattle seafood chain, but with a great location. There are hundreds of restaurants in Bend. When you get to town, pick up a copy of "Gusto," then you can make up your own mind. The Victorian at Galveston and 14th is great for breakfast. Any questions, I'll try to answer. Enjoy! CJ

Everyone, thanks so much -- sounds like lots to choose from esp in the Bend area where we have never been.

BarbAnn, good to hear about the First Friday Art walk in Bend. We will be there on a first Friday so will keep that in mind.

Certainly don't mind driving to Florence from Yachats--it's about an hour's drive?

Beachbum, not necessarily looking for high end eateries, just good food. In our past experiences in Yachats we've really struck out finding good food.
