Saw this on Groupon. DOn't know how long this will last as a thread on Fodor's. But I'm not selling this. Just thought it might help some people coming to visit.

Don't know the hotel - but it seems to be about a 10 minute walk to the subway - and a total of 25 minutes (walk plus subway) to get to Grand Central (per hopstop).
The hotel site says 5 minutes to Manhattan by car - but only in the middle of the night. Their distances/times are on the optimistic side.
There are far better deals on travelzoo.com for hotels in Manhattan. This hotel is not in a good location for subway and the price is not that great.
Well, it's only $139/night plus they give you a $20 dinner coupon. I thought that was pretty good. 5 minute walk to subway and 5 minutes into Manhattan with subway. Wouldn't take a car into Manhattan anyway. Why would you? But each to his/her own!
More than 5 min walk in a not great spot. You can stay at the Mela for. $129.

There is also a New York Hotel Week offer for January.
Wow, thanks for that info, Happytrvir. Thre are several really good NYC hotels ont hat offer for $100 a night, like the GEM hotels and several Comfort Inns, and my favorite, The Cosmopolitan in Tribeca!
The MELA queen superor rm for $129 is a fantastic bargain as well- that hotel is at Times Square and gets great reviews. Thanks mclaurie.

Wow, some good deals on travel zoo, thanks!
If you check the hotel on tripadvisor.com, you'll see that the first review has a warning about the Groupon offer (difficulty using it). But there are a number of good reviews of the hotel, as well.
Thanks for the tip on Hotel Week! Just got the Pod 39 for $100 a night, saved $85 plus tax for 2 nights!
