Going to Baltimore for 2 days with a 3-year-old

We are going to Baltimore for 2 days in mid-November (Veteran's Day weekend) with our 3-year-old daughter, and are staying at the Hyatt Regency in the Inner Harbor. I understand that the Aquarium and Science Museum are good bets, and Camden Yards (weather-permitting!!). Does anyone have any "young child-friendly" suggestions as far as restaurants and fun stuff other than what's mentioned above. We'll have a car, but not a lot of time. Thanks for the advice.

Did same trip when our daugghater was 5yo. She had a lot less desire to be a tourist than we did, by the way. Since I tend to rush around to all the sights, I actually was forced to relax, too. Not a bad thing! The aquarium is perfect; I think there is a nice childrens museum there. We went up to the top of the tallest building in Balt. -its in the harbor complex- she liked it alot though its not really very impressive to an adult who has ever visited a big city.
I assume your hotel has a pool: I bet that will be her favorite part of the trip! There is a pizza uno in the harbor complex: a good bet for kids. The Hyatt chain is very kid-oriented; I am sure they will have info for you. Have a great time.

First of all, forget Camden Yards. Only if you are going to a ballgame (Season is over now)is it worth it unless standing outside a locked-up round brick building sounds interesting to you. The National Aquarium is a good bet. You can catch a free look at some seals in an outside viewing area between the aquarium and the water. Science Center is ok for older kids but a three year old won't understand the educational part that they try to purvey. They have an IMAX theater there too but again it's not for a three year old. The USS Constellation (old sailing warship) is fun to climb around for a supervised toddler. It is next to the aquarium. Just looking at the boats and people walking around should entertain your daughter should the lines to the attractions be too long. Paddle boats may or not be available at the harbor in November. They provide life vests. No real kid oriented restaurants abound. But who would want to go there anyway? Better to pick a place like the Cheesecake Factory or such and have a decent lunch. They have your basic kids menu and booster seats. Watch for street performers in the semi-circular seating area between the two Inner Harbor shopping/food court buildings. That is fun for all ages.

Your child will LOVE the Aquarium, guaranteed - it is great, allow most of a day to see everything. There is a railroad museum not too far from Inner Harbor & that is fun for an afternoon. you can get a water taxi pass for the day and ride it all around the Inner Harbor, your daughter will love that too. Take the water taxi to Fell's Point and check out some of the shops, there is a neat shop crowded with toys, beanie babies, etc she will enjoy. At the Inner Harbor shopping mall area, there is a store that sells wind-up toys of every description, just the most fun to look around in! Have a good time.

Hi. You might want to check out Port Discovery. It's a relatively new kids' museum located across from the Aquarium. I've never been inside, but it seems like loads of fun.
