For those who have stayed at the 4S Maui, Princeville or Hyatt Kauai...

I am a bit embarrased to ask this question but here goes...
We will be on vacation at the three resorts mentioned above for 2 weeks and just realized that somewhere during our trip I will probably need to do some laundry. Is there a discreet way to get my personal items washed myself or is the only alternative to have one of those hotels do the wash for me? Does anyone have first hand knowledge of doing landry at one of these hotels, should I go to a laundrymat (sp?) or just start buying more clothes??? Help! I just can't see myself washing unmentionables at the 4S!

The Princiville has no facility to do laundry yourself. The closest I am aware of is in Kapaa.

We stayed at the Hyatt on Kauai a couple of years ago. There was a washer and drier for guest's use right at the end of the hall on our floor. Wasn't even an additional charge to use it. Very handy.

The Hyatt in Kauai still has laundry facilities as of last month (free of charge).

We just returned from a 2-week stay on Maui and Kauai. We also stayed at the Four Seasons at Wailea. To help out with the unmentionables, the hotel provided small packets of Woolite that were replenished each day. I used them daily to wash the salt water out of my swimsuits. They would be convenient for other items as well. And, of course, they do have full laundry service if you have the time or inclination to send out. Have fun!

With machines available at the Hyatt, I'd pack just enough for a week, and then hit the laundrymat in Kihie while on Maui. With the whole family in tow, you really should plan on it, and make it an enjoyable errand. I love doing laundry while staying at the 4S! Makes me feel at home, like I'm living it not just visiting. Perhaps we'll run in to each other on an early morning laundry run...making everything fresh for the rest of our stay!
