Estes Park/RMNP
Where is the best place to stay in Estes Park/RMNP area, for around $100 per night? We do not want a commercial hotel/motel, so perhaps a cabin.... I have found many on the internet but pretty soon they all start to look alike. So I would like personal opinions and experiences please. Good and Bad.

Prices completely depend on what time of year you're visiting. June through the end of September/into October is high season and you'll pay the highest rates. After mid-October, the rates fall quite a bit and the crowds are gone - great time to visit.
My personal favorite for quality and value is The Woodlands. Most of the lodging on Fall River Road is good, but $100/night might limit your choices. Have you checked Trip Advisor for suggestions? You can sort by price there.

We are going to arrive Sunday -
Labor Day weekend, and stay probably 4 nights. It looks like that area has lots of hiking choices.
After that we had thought of going to the Royal Gorge and the Co. Springs area, then headback on the 8th.
I'll check Tripadvisor too...Thanks!

Yeah, Labor Day weekend and the following week will be high season rates, but a gorgeous weekend to be at RMNP - well worth it!
Here's a great website with very detailed information on hiking in RMNP:

If you've never been, I'd highly recommend the Bear/Nymph/Dream/Emerald Lake Trail, or Alberta Falls. You honestly can't go wrong with any trail - all scenic, just some harder than others.
Here's some lodging to check out that would fit your budget: http://www.colocottages.com/

Kassanna,
Some places drop their rates even earlier. I stayed at this place twice and loved it and their rates go down 8/26. I stayed in an "upper chalet" which is a little above your price range, but there is also "lower chalet" which is a little less, and the daily price drops the more days you stay.
I like the place because it is almost into the park and is very quiet, yet still close to town also.

You can also try homeaway.com for rental houses, cabins, etc. and some rent by the day vs. the week. Even if they only list a weekly rate, you can always inquire about daily rates.

Just an update -
just got back from a great week in Colorado and will be posting a trip report later in the week.
By the way, Keno's Llama Ranch was great!! Only $110 a night and had a one bedroom condo, with a great view of Mary's Lake. I also got to feed their pet Elk.
Estes Park is now my fav spot in Colorado!!
