East Texas-Are Fall Foliage Colors Good Yet?

Checking to see if the fall colors are coming in yet. Please let me know if you live in the area.

Not much going on now. We are in a drought right now, don't know how that affects things with fall colors but thought I would mention it.

Thanks for the update. We usually drive to the the Winnsboro area this time of year or a few weeks later because some years the foliage is beautiful, but the peak period usually only lasts a couple of weeks if that.

I live about 20 miles from Winnsboro and things are just starting to change.

Thanks, Connie,
We'll probably wait a couple of weeks to drive out.

An update. We went to see the fall foliage on Nov 19. It might have been a week too late, but the colors were not as pretty as usual.

Really? because I thought the colors were really beautiful this year. Maybe you just hit the wrong weekend.

It's always hit or miss, right?
Some years are warm, some cold... rain, no rain. Some years it seems that fall came and went at 5:17pm on Nov 20.
Some days, like this weekend are in the 70's in January.
Spring in East Texas is almost always pretty.
Dogwoods, azaleas, wild flowers and nice winding roads to soak it all in.
Come on spring, I'm ready!

Maybe it was the wrong weekend, but in Dallas at the same time, the colors were actually better. Usually when the colors are good in Dallas, they're even better in East Texas. It was still a nice drive and we enjoyed dinner at CiboVino in Winnsboro a lot.
