Don't eat at the Four Seasons Beverly HIlls

Last night the dining room was relatively empty while the bar scene was hopping all night. There was a good reason, the food was below par. It was if the executive chef planned all the trendy foods without tasting his creations. The flavors didn't work and they didn't know a risotto from dried out rice! The prices were high ($54 for a veal chop with no sides) and anything creative didn't work. There were 4 of us, and we won't be returning. Do yourself a favor. Eat somewhere else!

WOW what a difference--
We ate there a week ago--on a Friday
Had the best -a chicken dish (which I cannot spell) moist with a delicate sauce.
Friend had pork medallions with Asparagus and Yukon potatoes also good.
Maybe you got the chef on a bad day...

HI Compumom----this may be a very picky point, but I think a very relevant one. My husband often tells me things like, "There is no toothpaste." I tell him that it is two different things to say, "I cannot find any toothpaste and there isn't any."

I am sorry that you had a bad meal at a very expensive place. Very unfair for you, and you could/should have asked for it to be replaced with something satisfactory. However, as the follow-up post shows, your bad experience is not universal. I agree that the purpose of this board is informative and, IMO, a good title for your post would be something that conveyed your individual experience of a very sub-standard meal at a place that should deliver more......

It happens... happened to me at Legal Seafood in Boston the other day!
LA has so many spectacular restaurants. Don"t eat at hotels, even fancy ones unless the restaurant is something special!

I stayed there over NYE and it was wonderful - all of it. I am sorry you had a horrible time. The service, even on a busy holiday was fantastic and the food was good as well.

My Dad and stepmom stay there often when they travel to California and it is one of their favorite places.

Txtravelpro - Wolfgang Puck has a resturant at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills - it has an over all good reputation - I asked a friend who is a chef and he recommends it as well.
