Disney's California Adventure

I am planning on visiting Cal Adventure in the next few weeks. Can anyone help with the following issues:

I heard the park is to be avoided on Tuesdays after 4 p.m. because employees can sign in guests for free, so it gets crowded. True?

I have heard park attendance is low. Is it necessary to get to the park at rope drop to avoid lines, or can we sleep in a bit and still see everything?

I heard it is a half-day park without much to do. True?

I heard several main attractions don't work very often and are closed. True?

Any other insights or tips would be appreciated. The kids in our group range from 16-4 years old.

Thanks.

If you do reserach on this site you will probably pull up at least 100 post that will answer your questions. I am too lazy to re-present our family's GREAT time that we had at CA with none of the "issues" that you called out.

I also suggest that you go to the Disney web site. There are thousands of discussions that focus completely on your trip.

Hope that helps.

Karen: I' sorry you didn't get a helpful response. I'm tentatively planning on taking my kids to Californis Adventure this summer - largely because I want to see the Electrical Parade again! - and so I am interested in any answers you get. I have heard that the entrance price has been cut to $33 for adults.

Oaktown: I searched on this forum and certainly came up with 100 posts, but only 2 of them had anything to do with California Adventure, the rest were California state stuff. If you're "too lazy" to respond to the question, then why bother responding at all?

There were absolutely no lines when I went on a weekday last month. But school's out now and they did just drop the admission fee for So. California residents. We personally found enough to keep us busy for the entire day. In addition to the rides, we took part seeing the stage shows and the various films that they have.

If it is busy on the day that you're there, make sure to take advantage of the fast pass.

We were there two weeks ago with our two nephews and we all enjoyed it a lot. It is more than a half day park. We got there about 11 a.m. and left when it closed at 9 PM and could have used more time. Do take advantage of the fast pass where available as it works great. We were there on a Monday and all the rides were running. The admission has been dropped for So. Ca. residents to $33 for adults (child's price when we were there) and each adult can take a child under 10 in free. Don't know what the price is for out of area people. I am sure it will be busier now than when we went with the price change for locals and also with school being out in S. Calif. Have a good time.

Leave me and my "Lazy" behind alone.

I, like you can CHOOSE to do whatever I want to. I am NOT one of your kids that you are dragging to The Electric Light Parade for your own selfish purposes!

Barbara, just stick to the question and keep your eyes on your own paper. You should have learned this years ago in elementary school.

I gave Karen solid direction.
{Let her decide if it is useful or not...geeesh!}
I also gave KAREN my honest level of energy at the time.
Why don't you TRY and do the same for Karen? Your energy is all mis-directed and negative but I am sure you already know that.

No need for you to respond. I will NOT respond back to you or any other BORED person reading or posting on this thread.
Barbara, to cure that boredom thing... spend your time with your kids (MORE) and get away from the computer and try to get ready for YOUR trip to CA.

Karen,
We visited Cal Adventure on a Friday about 10 days ago and loved it, even though the California Screamin' roller coaster was closed that day. We paid $43/person. We arrived at 10am and left at 6pm (and that was with our 79-year-old Dad). There were some long lines with 50 minute waits, but the Fast Pass works great. Don't miss the "It's Tough to be a Bug" 3D show and "Soarin over California". This is a smaller park than Disneyland, but we had a wonderful time anyway! Enjoy!
